🏷️ GO Fest 2026 · Event Prep · Item Guide

GO Fest is back — and 2026 is going to be the biggest one yet. We’re talking Zeraora’s global debut, Mewtwo returning to raids, shiny rates cranked way up, and a Global Finale on July 11–12 that every trainer on the planet can play from home. In-person events kick off in Tokyo (May 29–Jun 1), then Chicago (Jun 5–7), then Copenhagen (Jun 12–14).

Here’s the problem: GO Fest is the most resource-hungry event of the year. Raids, eggs, catches, trades — all happening simultaneously at a pace that drains your bag faster than you think. Trainers who show up without prep burn through items in the first hour and spend the rest watching.

This guide covers exactly what to stockpile, how much of it, and why — so when GO Fest hits, you’re the trainer still grinding at hour six while everyone else ran out of balls.

GO Fest 2026 at a Glance
Zeraora debut · Mewtwo raids · Shiny Wash Rotom debut · All 3 Paldean Tauros breeds · Boosted shiny rates · Up to 9 free Raid Passes daily · 6 Special Trades per day · Global Finale: July 11–12

1
Premium Battle Passes

Pokemon GO Premium Battle Passes — GO Fest 2026

Let’s start here because this is the one item that will make or break your GO Fest. Mewtwo is headlining raids, Zeraora will appear in Special Research, and GO Fest traditionally stacks tier-5 legendaries back to back. You will run out of free Raid Passes. Full stop.

The event gives up to 9 free Raid Passes per day by spinning Gyms — more than usual. But with raid bosses this good, 9 won’t be enough if you’re serious. A stack of Premium Battle Passes means you keep raiding while everyone else waits on cooldowns.

💰
How many to stockpile?
Casual player: 15–20 passes. Serious raider: 30–50+. If you’re shiny hunting Mewtwo, budget for more — shiny odds on legendaries are roughly 1 in 20.

PogoStore stocks Premium Battle Pass bundles sized for GO Fest grinding — check our item packs page to grab yours before the event.

2
Super Incubators

Super Incubators — Pokemon GO GO Fest 2026

GO Fest always brings exclusive 2km eggs loaded with event-specific Pokémon. Super Incubators hatch eggs at 1.5x speed vs regular incubators — significantly more hatches over a 2-day event.

With 3–5 Super Incubators running simultaneously you can cycle through 10–15 eggs over the event weekend. During GO Fest, that’s the difference between hatching one exclusive and hatching a full team.

💯
Pro Tip
Load your Super Incubators before the event starts so you’re hatching from minute one. GO Fest packs spawns close together — you’ll walk more than usual, meaning faster egg progress the whole time.

3
Star Pieces

Star Pieces stardust — Pokemon GO GO Fest 2026

Stardust is the most valuable resource in the game and GO Fest is the single best opportunity to farm it all year. A Star Piece multiplies all stardust by 1.5x for 30 minutes — and GO Fest’s event bonuses stack on top.

Keep Star Pieces active throughout both event days and you can realistically farm 600,000–1,000,000+ stardust over the weekend. Without them you’re leaving half that dust on the table.

🔢
How many to stockpile?
Aim for 20–30 Star Pieces minimum for the full global event weekend. They stack directly with GO Fest’s passive event bonuses for maximum dust output.

4
Lucky Eggs

Lucky Eggs XP — Pokemon GO GO Fest 2026

GO Fest = massive XP gains from raids, catches, egg hatches, and friend bonuses. A Lucky Egg doubles all XP for 30 minutes. The math during GO Fest is almost unfair — especially timed alongside a Raid win, egg hatches, and a friendship level-up all at once.

Trainer Trick
Collect Pokémon to mass-evolve the night before GO Fest. Pop a Lucky Egg right before you start evolving. 100+ evolutions under a Lucky Egg is one of the fastest XP methods in the game — you go into GO Fest day one already ahead.

5
Poké Balls, Great Balls & Ultra Balls

Pokeballs Great Balls Ultra Balls — GO Fest 2026 stockpile

Sounds obvious — but trainers consistently underestimate this. GO Fest spawns are relentless. Rare Pokémon, regional exclusives, event spawns, shiny checks on everything — all burning through your balls at speed. The golden rule: you cannot have too many balls.

🔴

Poké Balls
100+ (backup supply)

🔵

Great Balls
200+ (main catching ball)

🟡

Ultra Balls
100+ (raids + rare spawns)

PogoStore’s GO Fest item packs include curated ball bundles alongside other event essentials — so you don’t have to grind Pokéstops for three days just to prep.

6
Berries — Know Which to Use When

Pokemon GO Berries guide — GO Fest 2026

Berries are the unsung heroes of GO Fest. The right berry at the right moment is the difference between catching a shiny legendary and watching it flee. Here’s exactly how to use your stock:

Berry When to Use Stock Target
🍇 Golden Razz Legendary & shiny raid catches only. One encounter per pass — don’t risk it. 30–50
🍍 Silver Pinap High-value wild spawns — rare, regional, or shiny. Extra candy AND better catch rate. 30–40
🍓 Razz Berry Common spawns that keep jumping. Skip it if the Pokémon is staying still — save better berries. 50+
🍌 Nanab Berry Only if a Pokémon is jumping aggressively. Rarely needed — don’t overstock. 20–30
⚠️
Rule #1 for Shiny Encounters
Any shiny wild encounter — Golden Razz immediately. Never risk a Silver Pinap on a shiny. The extra candy isn’t worth the reduced catch security.

7
Remote Raid Passes — For Global Finale Players

Can’t make it to Tokyo, Chicago, or Copenhagen? The Global Finale on July 11–12 is your GO Fest, and Remote Raid Passes are how you access the best raid bosses from anywhere in the world — Mewtwo, Zeraora, and event-exclusive legendaries right from your couch.

🌐
Global Finale Dates
July 11–12, 2026. More details to be announced this spring. Stock up on Remote Raid Passes now and you’ll be ready regardless of what bosses get revealed.

8
Bag & Storage Upgrades — Do This First

None of the above matters if your bag is full. The default item bag holds 350 items — that is not enough for GO Fest. Serious players run 2,000+ capacity. Same for Pokémon Storage — you’ll catch more in two GO Fest days than most players catch in a month.

📦
Minimum Requirements for GO Fest
Item Bag: Upgrade to at least 1,500. 2,000 is better.
Pokémon Storage: 1,500 minimum. 2,000+ if you keep every spawn for review.
Timing: Do both at least a week before GO Fest so you have time to actually stock up.

9
Incense & Lure Modules

GO Fest extends the duration of both Lure Modules and Incense — so each one goes further than normal. Incense is especially good if you’re playing the Global Finale from home. It boosts your personal spawn rate and can attract event-exclusive Pokémon even if you’re not near a busy area. Stock at least 20–30 Incense before the event.

Lure Modules are your move if you’re playing in person. Pop a Glacial, Mossy, or Magnetic Lure for type-specific spawns, or a standard Lure at your favourite Pokéstop cluster.
